Exciting Physics Field Trip to the Museum of Illusions and the Planetarium

Class 5A and 5B on a Journey of Discovery

On 22 January 2026, students from Class 5A and 5B took part in an exciting field trip to the Museum of Illusions and the Planetarium as part of their physics lessons. The aim of the trip was to explore scientific concepts beyond the classroom in an engaging and hands-on way.

At the Museum of Illusions, students actively explored a wide range of interactive exhibits. Optical illusions, perspective effects, and hands-on experiments demonstrated how easily our brains can be tricked by visual perception. Highlights included the Vortex Tunnel, the Ames Room, and several interactive stations that encouraged students to experiment, collaborate, and think critically. Along the way, curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills were naturally fostered.

A special highlight of the day was the visit to the Planetarium. For the first time, a specially prepared German-language show was presented exclusively for our students. Through an impressive 3D-like documentary experience, the children immersed themselves in the solar system, embarking on a virtual journey through planets, moons, and distant galaxies. The visually rich presentation brought abstract astronomical concepts to life and sparked great enthusiasm for space and science.

Overall, the field trip provided a wonderful balance of learning, discovery, and excitement, enriching the physics curriculum in a meaningful way. The students’ curiosity, thoughtful questions, and enthusiastic participation highlighted the value of learning experiences beyond the classroom.
