Our Year 11 IB students had the privilege of meeting Davide Travelli, a bikepacker whose ten years on the road have turned journeys into extraordinary lessons. Traveling alone across continents, Davide has learned that the fear of a challenge is often far greater than the challenge itself, and that real growth comes from stepping into the unknown.
His adventures demanded resilience, endurance, and creativity, whether navigating unexpected detours, solving problems on the fly, or connecting with people along the way. He spoke of life as a delicate balance: to hold one thing close, another must be released. Freedom comes with simplicity, and fulfillment comes from choosing what truly matters.
Through his stories of roads traveled, friendships made, and moments of solitude, students experienced the heart of CAS in action: embracing challenges, persevering, thinking creatively, and reflecting deeply. Most importantly, Davide’s journey inspires us to find our own path, greet the unknown with courage, and recognize that life, like the road, is a balance of risk, connection, and reflection
Safe travels, Davide!
