Stefan Mappus, Prime Minister State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, visited the German School Doha on October 12, 2010 during his official journey to Qatar.
Mr. Mappus was welcomed by Ilka Detampel, principal of the school, along with the Board of the German School Association and children of the third class presented him a handmade guidebook of Doha.
Themed by the motto “Year of the German language”, a reading competition and exercises were carried out by fifth graders and school beginners, respectively.
Mr. Mappus was delighted by the warm welcome and clearly impressed by the performance of the fifth and first graders.
Following the school event, Mr. Mappus had the opportunity to discuss the future development of the German School Doha with the school principal, board members and the German ambassador Anne Ruth Herkes.
