In the week from January 18 to 22, our school was all about music.
The week kicked off on Monday with our internal school competition “Kinder musizieren”. Once again this year, students from classes 1 to 7 presented their musical skills on various instruments and in singing. The jury was impressed by the high standard and the great variety of the contributions.
Another musical highlight followed on Thursday: our school hosted the regional competition of the renowned German music competition “Jugend musiziert”. A total of 16 students competed as soloists or in ensembles. The jury, consisting of members of the music faculty and the chairman of the regional competitions for Northern and Eastern Europe and representative of the German schools abroad at the German Music Council, Mr. Robert Bär from the German School Helsinki, who had traveled here especially for the competition, experienced excellently prepared auditions.
The result was particularly pleasing for our school: at the subsequent prizewinners’ concert, it was announced that all participants in the regional competition “Jugend musiziert” 2025/26 had been forwarded to the second round. This will take place in March at the German School in Geneva.
Heartfelt congratulations to all participants and we wish them every success and an unforgettable time in Switzerland!
