As the highlight of our environmental and sustainability project in the kindergarten, the children brought their self-built insect house to Torba Farm.
The staff at the farm were delighted with the sustainable gift and were thrilled to see how committed the kindergarten children from the German International School are to protecting the environment.
At Torba Farm, the children were able to get to know many plants and animals and spend a wonderful day in nature. Our pre-school children were even allowed to harvest vegetables and herbs directly from the field themselves.
The vegetables they harvested themselves were tasted together during the morning circle on the next kindergarten day. Afterwards, the children discussed the taste, appearance, cultivation, nutritional values, and teamwork involved in planting and harvesting the vegetables in detail. They were also curious to try unfamiliar varieties – diligently nibbling on vitamins in the process.
