In the fall, our children planted their own vegetables in the school garden and learned how to grow them. Each kindergarten group was allowed to choose two types of vegetables in a democratic vote.
Over the course of several months, the children regularly watered their plants, carefully observed their growth and developed a great deal of patience and responsibility.
In addition, our colleague Frau Hartmann built a large wooden insect house together with the children. With great enthusiasm, the children were able to get to know different tools and actively help out.
During our project presentation, the parents were able to see what the children had learned over the past few months. Afterwards, the parents had the opportunity to try out various learning activities on the subject of nature and the environment together with their children – for example, making flower bracelets, solving a fruit and vegetable quiz or tasting freshly squeezed vitamin juices.
