21. January 2016 von Deutsche Internationale Schule

At irregular intervals we will post this newsletter on our website. It will inform you about all the important things happening. You can also subscribe to it. We would like to invite you to take part in the design, as well as content of the newsletter. Share your ideas and wishes through info@ds-doha.de.

Information for all students, parents and teachers

Dear School Community,
I would first like to thank you again for the good cooperation. I am currently in intensive talks with the school’ representatives Ms. Claudia Kaiser and Ms. Tania Fecht and am grateful for many interesting ideas.

Events, Events, Events

08.02.2016
Carnival at the German International School Doha – Motto: »Desert and Sea«

On this Monday we celebrate Fasching and distribute the »winter«. In collaboration with the student representatives and the class teachers the student council is planning some events on this day. The Carnival celebration will be held in the 5th and 6th period – disguised parents are also welcome. The children are allowed to come fancy dressed on this entire day. We ask you to keep Shrove pistols and rifles at home and to not bring to much paper streamers.

11.02.2016
Federal Youth Games

In all probability, the whole school will go on 11.2. to Aspire. For this purpose, the buses will be organized by the school. The children will return to school at 12.30 clock. Please think about that day on sports clothes, enough drinking water – perhaps a healthy snack (banana), clothes to change, towel, sunscreen and hat.

Business AG

The business AG (grade 7) currently also sells exercise books, set squares … In addition sweet and salty products were sold in the last time in small quantities as well as drinks. After current reflections only drinks (fruit juices and water) as well as school materials are offered at least until the term break.

Outside area

The grounds are currently being upgraded. For this reason, on the artificial grass pitches only loose games can take place. An intense use of the pitches (intensive soccer training) is not possible because there is a danger that the artificial turf slides at certain points. To minimize the risk of injury, it can be used under the supervision and is available for short-term playing options during the break time. The whole outdoor area can be used by the beginning of next week (Sunday, 24.01.2016). The supervisions have been redefined.

Afternoon activities in the coming school year

I would like to ask 3 dedicated parents gladly also 3 dedicated pupils to establish an advisory panel which will develop an afternoon program for the new school year. The previous concept will be further developed. Are interested please register until 02.08.2016 at the secretariat.

Remedial English class 5 and 6

With the start of the 2nd half of the school year, we will offer Remedial classes in English for the classes 5 and 6 on Tuesdays in the 7th period in the school. Please register from beginning of next week at the reception.

29.01. – 06. 02.2016
Term Break

The 28. 01.2016 is the last school day of the first half of this school year. On this day classes will finish with the distribution of the 1 semester report cards at 13.05 clock and also the kindergarten closes at this time. Lunch can be taken as usual. The supervision ends at the latest at 13.50 clock.

Micro Project Week grade 9 and 10

For grades 9 and 10 after the Term Break a Micro Project Week (project like teaching) will take place. The subject teachers were asked to make offers for their subjects. The school day runs as by schedule. About the results you will be informed in the media (Facebook, website).

Yours
