The second day of the student exchange was all about ambitious sportsmanship, team spirit and fair competition. At the German International School Abu Dhabi, students from both schools competed against each other in a variety of running relays and in the team sports of basketball, handball, floorball and football.
In numerous exciting and sometimes extremely close matches, the teams showed great commitment, sporting dedication and exemplary fair play throughout. Before the final game, the competition was tied overall, meaning that the final game – the soccer match between the boys of the year 9/10 team – had to decide the overall winner.
In a dramatic and high-class final, the German International School Abu Dhabi finally prevailed in a penalty shoot-out and narrowly won the tournament.
The German International School in Doha is very proud of its participating students, who competed with great commitment, team spirit and exceptional fairness.
The successful and eventful conclusion of the day was a get-together over a cake, which was enjoyed jointly with the students and their families. Special thanks go to the family of our student Yousef for providing this delicious cake and for their kind gesture.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the exchange school in Abu Dhabi for the excellent organization of this sporting day. We would also like to congratulate the German International School Abu Dhabi on their well-deserved win of the trophy.
