International encounters, intercultural learning and personal experiences beyond the classroom are very important at DIS Doha.
On Monday, January 19, 2026, 24 students from our school made their way to Abu Dhabi from Doha Airport together with Frau Pop, Frau Theil, Herr Wölkhart and Herr Sauer. This was already the third student exchange with Abu Dhabi, which took place again after the last visit in 2025 and was combined with a sports tournament against the partner school.
On arrival, the students were given a warm and open welcome at the German International School Abu Dhabi. Lunch together in the canteen provided the first opportunity for an exchange before the students took part in their exchange partners’ lessons until the end of the school day which gave them an authentic insight into everyday school life at the school. They then went home together with their host families so that the day could continue in a family atmosphere.
The perfect end to the first day was a joint meeting of all participants at the Formula 1 circuit on Yas Island. There they had the opportunity to explore the impressive track on foot or by bicycle. Subsequently, the students and accompanying teachers returned to the hotel, bringing an eventful and successful first day of the exchange to a close.
