Dear Parents,
the German International School Doha continues to develop as a full time and encounter school and we want to support all non-native German speaking students as best as possible. I am very grateful that the Executive Board has provided additional resources in this school year, to employ an additional GFL / GSL -teacher. With Mrs. Raja Schupp and GFL leader Mrs. Marina Rehren we have now two full-time teachers in primary school and secondary school who can support students additional to the general German lessons.
Such support, which encourages students intensively in the expression, in grammar and in the written language, succeeds only in small groups (intensive lessons). Therefore, the affected children will be taken out in individual lessons during the minor subjects ethics, art, music … from Ms. Schupp and Ms. Rehren to be taught in extra sessions.
This system has proven itself in many schools abroad. Important is that students will be able follow the mainly in German language held lessons. Non-native speakers need time, support and promotion.
