In the in many ways turbulent years from 2018 to 2021 Stefan Märzinger was the honorary chairman of the board of the German International School Doha. He accompanied us in the anniversary year 2018 with many actions and events, engaged in all visits and official occasions, as well as meetings, gatherings and trainings. In addition to handling the usual diverse and representative tasks of a member of the school board, he paid special attention to the good cooperation with the school community as well as a good and open relationship with the responsible authorities in our host country and in Germany. The expansion and reconstruction of our external facilities was also a special concern of his and during the challenging pandemic period in 2020/21 he always stood by the DIS Doha actively and with commitment in his uncomplicated and open manner. Stefan Märzinger is leaving office now for personal reasons. We regret this very much! It only remains for us to say thank you for the manifold commitment and the time spent together. We wish all the best for the future.
The new chairman of the board is Oliver Moritz. Mr. Moritz has served the German International School in various positions since its founding. He takes on the role of Chairman in addition to his existing role as Head of Facility Management. We are pleased about his continued commitment!
We would also like to thank Michael Hirata, Secretary, and Karen Schmiady, Intercultural Competence Officer, for their commitment to the school’s Board of Directors. Both have stepped down from their positions with their return to Germany.
Dirk Dillschneider,
on behalf of the entire school community
