Qatar German Year of Culture 2017: We take part!
We take part! – This is our motto in connection with the ”Qatar German Year of Culture“. Since the beginning of 2017, the German International School Doha has participated in many events that take place during this cultural year. The fact that we have the opportunity to do so is really exciting! Many thanks to the organizers and the management!
History for our pupils at the “Doha Fire Station”
Since the beginning of the Qatar German Year of Culture 2017, the German International School Doha has took part in many events. On the 4th of May, students from the 9th, 10th and 11th grade participated at a lecture by the German Archaeological Institute in the rooms of the Museum and Art Center “Doha Fire Station”.
Prof. Dr Ricardo Eichmann, head of the Orient-Department of the German Archeological Institute, gave an overview for researchers, archeological experts and the general public on the excavation and survey projects done by the German Archeological Institute in Qatar. His collegue Dipl. Ing. Alexandra Riedel, who is heading the Qatar funded excavation works in Sudan, gave an interesting lecture about the projects of the German Archeological Institute in Sudan.
