The competitions “Jugend musiziert” and “Kinder musiziert” will take place again this year!
The representatives of all federal states agreed on this at the last meeting of the “Extended Project Advisory Board for Jugend musiziert”. Various scenarios were discussed: competitions with a limited or no audience, online competition live or with previous recording … In order to make a final decision on the type of implementation, we have to wait and see how the corona situation in Doha develops over the next few months. The meeting members of the “Extended Project Advisory Board Jugend musiziert” agreed, however, that especially in times of the pandemic, active music-making promotes the well-being of children and young people and therefore a cancellation of the competition for this year should not be considered.
After a short conversation between principal Dirk Dillschneider and music teacher André Reichel, it was agreed that the regional competition should be held on February 7, 2021 at the German International School Doha. The Primary school competition “Kinder musiziert” is expected to take place after the spring break.
The following categories are announced for the “Jugend musiziert” 2021 competition:
Solo rating
- Wind instruments
- Plucked instruments
- Bass (pop)
- Musical
- Organ
- Special instruments
Ensemble evaluation
- Piano four hands
- Duo: piano and a string instrument
- Percussion ensemble
- Special ensembles
