Our video shows the highlights of our Day of German Unity at the DIS Doha!

From face painting in black, red and gold with class 1 and class 12 students, to the “silent color puzzle game” and exciting sports games, to the experimental “liquid German flag” in the chemistry room – the day was full of fun and team spirit.

The school’s new safeguarding concept, which sets out the rules and consequences, can be seen as a kind of “small legal system” within the school community. Just as a society has a legal system that regulates coexistence and enables peaceful coexistence through certain rules and sanctions, the school’s safeguarding concept also has the task of promoting safety, justice and mutual respect.

On the Day of German Unity, this new safeguarding concept was presented in workshops in all classes. This highly symbolic day, which stands for unity and social values, was ideally chosen to present the new concept and strengthen the sense of community. The pupils were introduced to the concept in an action-oriented way. This means that they were actively involved in the process and were not only able to learn about the concept in theory, but also experience it in practice. A small role play supported the presentation in plenary and gave the students the opportunity to act out typical situations.

These realistic scenes enabled the audience to understand how the safeguarding concept should work in everyday life and how the students themselves can take responsibility.
