A ‘Museum Tour’ through the Underwater World in Class 4

24. March 2024 von Tamás Prágay-Szabó

– a brief insight into this method

Cooperative forms of learning and presenting the results of one’s own work are an important part of the lessons.

In this museum tour, the children displayed their research results on the topic of ‘marine animals’ on the walls and floor of our gallery on the second floor, just like in a museum. This is ideal for such activities. The students then wandered through the exhibition in groups, with one child each presenting a poster with their information as an expert on a marine animal. The presentation was often complemented by a small game or quiz. As there were always 10 groups of 3 children wandering through the exhibition, each child had to give their presentation 10 times – and got better each time thanks to the constructive feedback, which could be implemented directly. The students therefore have the task of discussing and exchanging their results. Accordingly, the method serves both reflection and permeation as well as the assessment of different results and requires high communication skills.
