Dear Mr. Helmut Jolk and Mr. Dirk Dillschneider,
The school year 2015/16 is already in full swing.
The board of the school association (Deutscher Schulverein Doha) would like to welcome all, especially the new parents, teachers and kindergarten teachers, and a warm welcome to our new principal, Mr. Dillschneider.
As we welcome our new principal, we have to also say farewell to Mr. Jolk, who last year took over the job as principal on very short notice. His outstanding commitment and experience helped to overcome the numerous challenges of a school still in the process of growing. Among his achievements were the successful preparations for the introduction of the GIB and the further development of the DISD to a community school. We would like to express to Mr. Jolk our deepest thanks.
With the increased revenue due to the school’s and kindergarten’s continued growth, we were able during last year to make some investments in order to improve the infrastructure. The football field was covered with artificial grass, two basketball courts received new flooring, and an outdoor playground was established. During the summer break, we could also replace all PCs and projectors in the school building. Furthermore, we have already ordered new playground equipment for the out- and indoor area, a large trampoline for sports, and new musical instruments. For the coming year, one of our main focus points will be the analysis and decision regarding the options for a new school building. An invitation will be sent out for our annual assembly of members of the school association at the end of October 2015. We look forward to seeing our current members and would be happy to welcome new members as well. Registration forms for the Parent’s Association can be found at the reception.
