Five students from the German International School in Doha took part in the regional “Jugend musiziert” competition in Helsinki in January and achieved outstanding results. Lucia, accompanied by Niclas, and Emma with her accompanist Anna from the German School Helsinki competed in the “Singing (Pop)” category, while Hana (cello) and Josefa (flute) each won 1st prize in their respective instrumental categories.
Lucia and Niclas as well as Emma and Anna qualified for the national competition, which took place straight afterwards in Helsinki. There, Lucia and Niclas achieved a very good 2nd prize, while Emma even made it through to the national competition in Wuppertal in June 2025 with a 1st prize.
The trip to Helsinki was a valuable experience for the children with many special impressions, new challenges and great encounters.
We congratulate all participants on their success and would like to thank the Jumu team on site for this great experience! We hope that the DIS Doha will be represented in Helsinki again next year with many music-loving students!
