On 12.11. and on 14.11. students from our school attended the big football tournament of the Qatar Schools Olympic Program. The event took place in the Aspire Park against other school teams of Qatar. On 12.11. the boys of the age group born 2010 and 2011 (Level 1) played, on 14.11. the age group born 2008 and 2009 (Level 2).
In Level 1, our school was represented by Adam, Jamie, Malek, Ali, Mateen (all Class 3a), Noel, Soliman, Arjen, Hamad, Federico, Hashem (all Class 3b), Marwan (Class 4a), Omar, Paul and Sami (both class 4b).
In level 2 our school was represented by Richard (class 4a), Hamza, Ismail (both class 4b), Ivan, Leon, Yessin, Mubarak, Joshua (all class 5a), Ahmad S., Carlos, Ali, Jassim (all class 5b), Adam and Ahmed T. (grade 6).
In the first tournament (12.11.) our young team had to accept defeat in the first game but could show in the second game how much potential there is in the team. Due to a great team performance we left the pitch the winners having won 4:1 .
In the second tournament (14.11.) our older team unfortunately had to take defeats.
Nevertheless, the team spirit of all those involved has to be emphasized and in the end we had a lot of fun and gained a lot of new experiences. For many students it was the first time that they participated in such a sporting event. We’ll be back – that’s for sure!
Both teams were supervised by sports teachers Ms Wittrin and Mr Treuse.
