As part of the ” Lernen lernen ” (“Learning to Learn”) lessons, Class 1b has spent the last three weeks reading children’s books together that deal with the subject of arguments. In class, we talk together about how the argument came about and how it can be resolved without violence.
To do this, we read a new book each week and discuss what solution was found for the dispute. Afterwards, we gather the strategies on a big poster in the classroom, so that we can always take a look at it in class and in the event a conflict arises. So far, we have already learned these strategies for dealing with conflict:
– Listening and letting the other person finish
– Apologize and make up
– Admitting mistakes and making amends
