On the 15th of January, the first round of the music contest ”Jugend musiziert“ took place in our school for the second time. During this amazing competition, the participants put their abilities to the test in the following categories: piano solo, classical vocal and Pop vocals ensemble.
The audience and the jury were impressed and therefore it is not surprising that 1 second prize and 3 first places were awarded. Two of them progress to the next round, which will take place from March 18th to 23rd, 2020 at the German School in Warsaw.
We wish the participants who succeeded the best of luck, and would like to take the opportunity to thank the jury: Alena Pyne (conductor, Qatar Youth & Junior Choirs), Tobias Gette (violinist, Qatar Philharmonic Orchester), Jakob Wenigwieser (tubist, Qatar Philharmonic Orchester) and André Reichel (music teacher, German International School Doha).
