After the primary school had the chance to play in the dodgeball tournament, the secondary school had the opportunity to play in the handball tournament this week. After weeks of preparation during sports lessons, the time had finally come last Tuesday and the big tournament was organized by the sports faculty at the sports hall of the DIS Doha. The tournament was played in a league system, so that all classes could compete against each other and exciting and fair games took place. In an intense final match between the previously undefeated classes 7 and 8, at the end it was the class 7 that prevailed with 11:06 and was crowned the winner of the tournament.
With this tournament, the students were able to bring their own athletic development of the last weeks to a nice conclusion. Not only were they able to experience what it means to prove themselves in a sporting competition, but they also learned about sporting values such as team spirit and fair play in a setting outside of the curricular sports lessons.
