We are very happy that German tennis player Julia Görges found time to stop by during the ladies Qatar Total Open 2020! The student community of the German International School Doha offered the 31-year-old athlete a great welcome. In the large outdoor area, the schoolchildren awaited her with cheers and flags.
The German tennis player was welcomed in the presence of Rawdah Al Zaidan, director of the school affairs department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education as well as the President of the Women’s Sports Committee Lolwa Al-Marri, and the German Ambassador to Qatar Hans-Udo Muzel along with his wife Lilian Muzel, and Mr Stefan Märzinger, Chairman of the school board as well as the School principal Mr Dirk Dillschneider and Diana Guthmann.
Sports teacher Marcelina Hörlin introduced Julia Görges and extensively recognized her achievements. “What are your hobbies?”, “How long do you exercise every day?”, “How long have you been playing tennis?”, “How do you like Doha?” … Ms. Görges then answered all questions patiently and fortunately had time for photos, selfies and autographs too!
It’s great that you were with us, dear Julia, we wish you good luck and success for your sportive future! We also would like to thank the German Embassy to Qatar for the support of this event.
