Visit at the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra
On Thursday, the 12th of September our class 7 – together with Mrs. Wagner and Mr. Reichel – had the chance to attend a final rehearsal of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the young and German conductor David Niemann. During this very interesting rehearsal the students listened to Bedrich Smetana’s “Die Moldau” and Gioachino Rossini’s overture “Wilhelm Tell”. After the rehearsal the conductor took time to answer questions from the students. Thank you very much to Tobias Gette and the management of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra who made this musical morning possible.
Impressions from our students:
»I liked the concert and the music was really beautiful. The musicians played really good. The conductor explained “Die Moldau“ to us in a very good and interesting way.« (Elaf)
“I liked it because I saw how they played together. Afterwards the conductor answered our questions in a very detailed way.” (Louis)
“Very nice piece of music and organized great.” (Jasmina)
“I really liked the concert. It looked amazing how the musicians played. They were all very concentrated and practiced diligently in advance.” (Till)
“At the beginning it was a little bit strange because the musicians still had to tune their instruments and it was totally chaotic. But afterwards it was nice and the musicians played very good. Unforgettable!” (Manuela)
“It was great and we had a lot of fun. I learned a lot.” (Mohamed)
