The evening of December 24 is the evening before the so called “Weihnachtstag”. On this evening, among others, in Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria traditionally the “Bescherung” (presentation of gifts) takes place. The night from December 24 to 25 is also called “Heilige Nacht” or “Christnacht”“. The afternoon of the 24th, 25th and 26th are official holidays in Germany.
