The “Gemischtsprachige International Baccalaureate” (GIB) is based on a compromise between IBO® and the German authorities (Kultusministerkonferenz/ council of ministers of education), cf. KMK-decision of 21 March 2007:
According to this compromise, the subjects History and Biology will be taught in German in IB® Diploma Programme.
Furthermore, the general rules for recognition of IB® at German universities are taken into account by offering the appropriate subjects etc.
