Whether “egg tumbling”, “egg rolling” or “egg chasing” – there are many creative names for the traditional Easter egg race across Germany. However, they all have one thing in common: an egg has to get from A to B, preferably quickly, far – and as intact as possible!
At the DIS Doha, for its third year, it was time for the big Easter egg roll!
Although we modernized the whole thing a little: instead of hills and chicken eggs, we opted for a slanted, extra-long tube and durable plastic eggs – after all, the focus should be on the fun and not the eggshell remains.
Among the participants: students from classes 1 to 11, who competed in a turbulent competition of rolling eggs. The administration and teaching staff also sent participants into the race. There was plenty to marvel at in the spectator stands – some of the techniques would have made even physicists ponder.
If that wasn’t enough, the egg race that followed was high-speed – ambition, balance and a good eye were required. Good thing our eggs were unbreakable!
Praise is due to our dedicated student council, who managed the event with charm, oversight and a good dose of entertainment. Excitement guaranteed right up to the last second!
