Language and Literature class (German and translated foreign literature) at native-speaker level
Group 2 / English B
Language acquisition/ English as a foreign language; has to be taken in “Higher level” (HL) due to rules of recognition of IB at German universities
Group 3 / Geschichte
classes in German; can be taken as an optional HL subject
Group 4 / Biologie
classes in German
Group 4 / Chemistry
classes in English; can be chosen instead of Visual Arts (group 6); actually only available in “Standard Level” (SL)
Group 5 / Mathematics
classes in English
Group 6 optional / Visual Arts
Currently suspended, as Chemistry is a compulsory subject.
At least three of the six subjects to choose have to be taken in »Higher Level« (HL; 6 lessons per week) the remaining subjects in »Standard Level« (SL; 4 lessons per week).
It is highly recommended NOT to choose more than three subjects in HL.
