Cen\u00adtral Agen\u00adcy for Ger\u00adman Schools Abroad (ZfA)<\/h2>\n
The Cen\u00adtral Agen\u00adcy for Ger\u00adman Schools Abroad (Zen\u00adtral\u00adstelle f\u00fcr das Aus\u00adlandss\u00adchul\u00adwe\u00adsen, ZfA) of the Fed\u00ader\u00adal Of\u00adfice of Ad\u00admin\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion sup\u00adports over 1,200 schools world\u00adwide, in\u00adclud\u00ading more than 140 Ger\u00adman schools abroad \u2013 main\u00adly in pub\u00adlic-pri\u00advate part\u00adner\u00adship \u2013 and ap\u00adprox\u00adi\u00admate\u00adly 1,100 schools in the re\u00adspec\u00adtive ed\u00adu\u00adca\u00adtion\u00adal sys\u00adtem in which the Ger\u00adman Lan\u00adguage Cer\u00adtifi\u00adcate (DSD) can be ac\u00adquired. On be\u00adhalf of the Fed\u00ader\u00adal For\u00adeign Of\u00adfice and in close co\u00adop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion with the fed\u00ader\u00adal states, the ZfA pro\u00advides them with per\u00adson\u00adnel, fi\u00adnan\u00adcial and ped\u00ada\u00adgog\u00adi\u00adcal as\u00adsis\u00adtance. The ZfA, which was es\u00adtab\u00adlished at the Fed\u00ader\u00adal Of\u00adfice of Ad\u00admin\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion in 1968, re\u00adports to the Fed\u00ader\u00adal For\u00adeign Of\u00adfice.<\/p>\n
Ger\u00adman schools abroad, most\u00adly con\u00adceived as in\u00adter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal schools, are open not on\u00adly to chil\u00addren of Ger\u00admans work\u00ading abroad and wish\u00ading Ger\u00adman ed\u00adu\u00adca\u00adtion for their kids. Three out of four pupils are from the re\u00adspec\u00adtive host coun\u00adtries or oth\u00ader cul\u00adtures, thus get\u00adting the chance to fa\u00admil\u00adiar\u00adize them\u00adselves with Ger\u00admany, its cul\u00adture, and lan\u00adguage. These high-pro\u00adfile in\u00adsti\u00adtu\u00adtions of the Ger\u00adman school sys\u00adtem are very pop\u00adu\u00adlar world\u00adwide and con\u00adsti\u00adtute an im\u00adpor\u00adtant pil\u00adlar of cul\u00adtur\u00adal re\u00adla\u00adtions and ed\u00adu\u00adca\u00adtion pol\u00adi\u00adcy.<\/p>\n
The ZfA is re\u00adspon\u00adsi\u00adble for the place\u00adment, fi\u00adnan\u00adcial sup\u00adport, prepa\u00adra\u00adtion, and fur\u00adther ed\u00adu\u00adca\u00adtion of teach\u00aders. About 2,000 teach\u00aders placed by the ZfA are em\u00adployed at Ger\u00adman schools all over the world.<\/p>\n
