From June 25 to July 1, as the school year came to a close, our school was transformed into a large workshop for sustainability, creativity, and collaborative learning. A total of 13 projects invited students from all class levels, from classes 1 to 9, to engage with nature, the environment, and the United Nations\u2019 17 Sustainable Development Goals in a variety of ways.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The range of projects was impressive: In \u201cSecond-Chance Fashion\u201d and \u201cLittle Designers, Big Ideas,\u201d old clothes were transformed into new fashion and creative outfits. In the \u201cStomp \u2013 Rhythm Meets Sustainability\u201d project, trash cans, bottles, brooms, and buckets were turned into percussion instruments. In the \u201cBottle Cap Art\u201d project, the students designed flowerpots from bottle caps, while \u201cTurning Waste into Wonder\u201d demonstrated how so-called trash can be transformed into toys and skill games. And another group built the \u201cLearning Cube\u201d out of plastic bottles\u2014a creative retreat for learning.<\/span><\/div>\n

Waste sorting and resource conservation also played an important role: Participants worked with a \u201cWaste Passport\u201d\u2014their personal waste sorting guide\u2014and developed visual waste sorting stations for younger classes. In \u201cThe Green Footprint in the Gym Bag,\u201d they examined just how sustainable sportswear, equipment, and nutrition actually are. In the paper workshop, the children made their own recycled paper\u2014which they used to create books, cards, and even plantable paper.<\/span><\/div>\n

Things got artistic during the climate art projects: In \u201cClimate Crisis Meets Art,\u201d famous masterpieces were reinterpreted against the backdrop of the climate crisis. The youngest participants in \u201cMission Climate Art\u201d used paints, collages, and models to depict their visions of our Earth in the year 2030. Finally, the theater project \u201cThe Friends of the Green Forest\u201d brought waste prevention and nature conservation to the stage with animals, butterflies, dance, and music.<\/span><\/div>\n

The event culminated on the final day with a grand presentation for the entire school community. Numerous families visited the exhibitions, tried out games and waste-sorting stations, and engaged in conversation with the young project teams. On stage, theater, dance, athletic performances, the fashion show, and the STOMP performance provided a varied program.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

During the festive ceremony, students who had earned a grade of 1 in all subjects were also honored. At the same time, we said goodbye to colleagues who were leaving our school at the end of the school year.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
