Dear Students and Parents,<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We are delighted to announce that this year, students at the German International School will once again have the opportunity to participate in Germany’s largest music competition, \u201cJugend musiziert\u201d (Youth Makes Music).<\/p>\n

The competition is divided into three rounds: the regional competition, the state competition, and the national competition.<\/p>\n

The schedule for our school is as follows: On January 22, 2026, the regional competition will take place at DIS Doha. The winners of the regional competition will take part in the state competition at the German School in Geneva from March 18 to 22, 2026. Those who are successful there will then take part in the national competition in Munich and Regensburg from May 21 to 31, 2026.<\/p>\n

Please note that if your child advances to the next round, you will be responsible for the travel expenses incurred.<\/p>\n

Children and young people up to the age of 21 can compete in various solo or ensemble categories. These categories are determined by the competition on a three-year cycle. This year, the following categories are available:<\/p>\n

Solo evaluation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Piano
\nHarp
\nSinging
\nDrum set (pop)
\nGuitar (pop)<\/p>\n

Ensemble evaluation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chamber music for string instruments
\nChamber music for wind instruments
\nChamber music for mixed ensembles
\nAccordion chamber music
\nSpecial ensembles: New music<\/p>\n

To ensure fair evaluation by the jury, there are different age categories and specific requirements for each audition. You should read these in the official announcement, which you can download as a PDF at the following link:<\/p>\n
