The lowest passing grade is &#8220;4&#8221; (= satisfactory).<br \/>\nA total of 42 points can be achieved in the six examination subjects of the IB Diploma. Including up to three additional points of the &#8216;additional requirements&#8217;, a maximum of 45 points can be achieved. The minimum score required to pass the IB Diploma is 24 points.<\/p>\n<p>For the IB Diploma to be recognized as a German university entrance qualification, the minimum score of 24 points for passing the Diploma Programme is required. In addition, a maximum of one low graded subject with a grade of &#8220;3&#8221; may be awarded. However, this grade must be compensated by at least a grade &#8220;5&#8221; or better at the same course level (&#8216;Level&#8217;).<br \/>\nMore than one grade &#8220;3&#8221; or lower will prevent recognition of the IB.
