A school beginning that will definitely go down in the history of the school: this year’s first day at school ceremony of the German International School Doha took place online last Wednesday. The new students in classes 1a and 1b were warmly welcomed at 3pm and 5pm respectively.<\/p>\n
The children excitedly sat together with their parents at home in front of the computer watching the welcome by head of primary Herr Dieudonn\u00e9. Of course, the two class teachers Frau Vesper (1a) and Frau Pfeil (1b) were there online too! Then the play \u201cFirst Day at School\u201d was performed, which had been rehearsed for the occasion by the class 3 children together with music teacher Andr\u00e9 Reichel.<\/p>\n
On a digital map of the world, the children and their parents were able to follow exactly from which country each individual child in the class came to our school in Qatar; every single child was introduced, allowed to wave and say hello to everyone. Finally, the first digital class photo was taken using a screenshot.<\/p>\n
We wish all new class 1 students a good start into school life!<\/p>\n
