{"id":8220,"date":"2016-03-28T11:22:38","date_gmt":"2016-03-28T07:22:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ds-doha.de\/en\/?page_id=8220"},"modified":"2021-08-04T11:31:38","modified_gmt":"2021-08-04T08:31:38","slug":"admission-at-universities-in-germany","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ds-doha.de\/en\/ib-diploma-programme-ib-dp\/admission-at-universities-in-germany\/","title":{"rendered":"Admission at universities in Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To be accepted at universities in Germany with IB<strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup> <\/strong> diploma, the rules of the &gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ds-doha.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/KMK-Bedingungen-Anerkennung-IB-Fassung-2015.pdf\">decision by the conference of the German ministers of education<\/a> (KMK) of 10 March 1986 in the version of 1 october 2015 apply.<\/p>\n<p>The special conditions for &gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ds-doha.de\/en\/ib-diploma-programme-ib-dp\/gib-the-german-ib\/\">GIB<\/a> as well as the conditions for the admission of IB diploma at universities in Germany imply that the students attend to the following classes during the two years of IB<strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> Diploma Programme:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>German (at German International School: German A Literature)<\/li>\n<li>one foreign language as &#8220;Language A&#8221; or &#8220;Language B Higher Level&#8221; subject (German International School Doha: English B in HL)<\/li>\n<li>one natural sciences subject (German International School Doha : Biology)<\/li>\n<li>one social sciences subject (German International School Doha: History in SL or HL)<\/li>\n<li>either mathematics or a natural sciences subject as a &#8220;Higher Level&#8221; subject<\/li>\n<li>as sixth subject either one more subject of category 1 to 4 (see &gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ds-doha.de\/en\/ib-diploma-programme-ib-dp\/ib-subjects\/\">IB<strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> subjects<\/a>) or one of the following subjects: Art\/ Design, Music, Theatre Arts; Film, Literature and Performance, one more modern foreign language, Latin, Classical Greek, General Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Environmental Systems, Computer Science, Design Technology, World Religions, Sports exercise and health science<br \/>\n(DIS Dohe: Chemistry in SL or HL, possibly Visual Arts in the future if demand is high)<\/li>\n<li>in all six chosen subjects the students have to achieve at least 4 out of 7 points (balancing rule: one grade of 3 can be compensated by a grade of 5 in case that there have been achieved at least 24 out of 45 points in all subjects in total)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please be aware that there is no guarantee for a place to study at any given university.<\/p>\n<p>Try to get specific information about the conditions for admission at the university at which you would like to study as soon as possible!<\/p>\n<p>The chances for admission with &gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ds-doha.de\/en\/ib-diploma-programme-ib-dp\/gib-the-german-ib\/\">GIB<\/a> at universities in Germany are nevertheless quite good since a student with IB<strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong>\/ GIB will fall automatically into the category\/ contingent of &#8220;<em>Bildungsausl\u00e4nder<\/em>&#8220;, for which universities in Germany have to reserve a certain percentage of their places to study.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To be accepted at universities in Germany with IB\u00ae diploma, the rules of the &gt; decision by the conference of the German ministers of education (KMK) of 10 March 1986 in the version of 1 october 2015 apply.
