Teaching in IB Diploma Programme\u00ae<\/sup> <\/strong> includes three specific IB\u00ae<\/sup> <\/strong> subjects\/ performances:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Theory of knowledge (TOK)<\/strong>
\nCourse with interdisciplinary approach about ways of knowing and areas of knowledge – or rather: How do we humans generate knowledge?
\nThis subject is to be attended like a normal subject (100 hours in two school years).<\/p>\n

2. Creativity, activity, service (CAS)<\/strong>
\nThe purpose of this subject is to lead the students to a meaningful life by being creative, active and by showing social commitment.
\nThey have to try by themselves to create projects or to get involved into existing projects and to meet the requirements of eight different “learning outcomes” in this way.
\nThus, CAS is not to be attended like a normal subject. The respective activities have to be planned and performed by the students independently. Nevertheless, there’ll be a CAS coordinator who will supervise the process, control the outcomes and advise the students.
\nThe necessary time exposure per week will be around three to four hours.<\/p>\n

3. The Extended Essay (up to 4000 words)<\/strong>
\nThe student is to write an independent essay in a subject of his choice by using a scientific approach and by respecting the rules of Academic Honesty.<\/p>\n

Grading<\/strong>
\nThe students can gain up to 3 points (out of 45) for the diploma based on the grades achieved for TOK and Extended Essay according to a special evaluation key<\/a> . There’ll be no grade awarded for CAS.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
