The »Gemischtsprachige International Baccalaureate« (GIB) is based on a compromise between IBO and the German authorities (Kultusministerkonferenz/ council of ministers of education), cf. KMK-decision of 21 March 2007:
According to this compromise, the subjects History and Biology will be taught in German in IB Diploma Programme.
Furthermore, the general rules for recognition of IB at German universities are taken into account by offering the appropriate subjects etc.
